With great sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Don Small (Robert Donald Small) of Ottawa passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2025 at the age of 79. He was born in Kingston, Ontario on October 13, 1945, and was raised in Leaside, Toronto.
He is survived by his wife Marian, his children Tara (Saif), Aaron (Nellie), and Rebecca , his four grandchildren: Justin, Zahra, Zayden, and Andrew, his sister Janet (Alan) and his brother Bruce (Jojo).
He had a passion for mathematics and taught at the University of New Brunswick for many years in both the Department of Mathematics and Faculty of Computer Science.
A long-term member of The Ottawa Art Group, he will be missed by his many friends there.
Per the family’s request, no funeral service will be held.
