Dianne Lemieux (Obituary).
It is in deep regret to announce the passing of Dianne Lemieux of Grand Lake N.S.
She passed away peacefully with her husband Michel by her side on Dec 27th 2024, in
Halifax N.S. after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dianne was a devoted wife, mémère, aunt, sister, and friend. She was deeply cherished by all who knew
her and was surrounded by family and friends who provided endless love and support throughout her
illness.
She is survived by her loving husband of 17 yrs, Michel Brunet, who remained steadfast by her side
throughout her life and illness. Dianne was a selfless soul, always more concerned for the well-being of
those around her. Even during her treatments, she never complained, often comforting other patients
and helping them feel at ease.
Dianne’s only child, Joël (Elyse), who was the light of her life. Joël’s journey, from joining the navy to
marrying Elyse and having two children, Josie and Jamie, brought immense joy to her world. As her
family grew, so did her boundless love and affection.
Born in France on October 23, 1964, Dianne entered the world with her twin sister (Suzanne). As part of
a military family, she moved between bases in Canada and Europe before settling in North Bay, Ontario,
upon her father’s retirement. She spent her formative years in North Bay before moving to Aylmer,
Quebec, where she and Suzanne attended at Polyvalante Grande Riviere High school.
After high school, Dianne pursued studies in secretarial law at college and began working for
Environment Canada around 1995. Her dedication and professionalism saw her excel in various roles,
earning admiration and respect from colleagues. She proudly celebrated her retirement on October 23,
2024.
Dianne is survived by her mother Colleen; siblings, Robert(Lori) and Suzanne(Amedeo); as well as her
nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, friends, former colleagues. She was predeceased by her
father, Jean Jacques (Jack), and her sisters, Cynthia and Linda Bowe (Robert).
In accordance with her wishes, the family will hold a private celebration of her life to honour her
memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
