Passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the age of 82 years. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” (2023). Loving mother of Dale (Bert) Pieper, Kim (Mike) Fricke and Brad. Cherished Grandma of Mackensie, Amanda, Daniel and Benjamin. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
She met the love of her life, Bill, while working in Montreal and married him in 1962. After Diane had her first child, she dedicated her life to motherhood and was the foundation of our family. She was our fierce protector, proudest cheerleader and the reason behind our smiles. Her greatest joy was being a grandma. Her love for her grandchildren was constant and her care and concern endless. Diane took pleasure in annual vacations with her husband, children and grandchildren and enjoyed Sunday mornings at church, finishing the day with a family dinner at home.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe for their care and compassion. You helped all of us through this difficult time.
In keeping with Diane’s wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Simcoe, The Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice.
