It is with great sadness the family of Diana Hainstock announce her passing on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the age of 82 years after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.
Diana was predeceased by her father and mother, John and Polly Barabonoff; sister Mary Prokopchuk; brother-in-law Ross Prokopchuk; grand nephew Neil Waddell; father-in-law and mother-in-law Lyall and Edith Hainstock; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Yvonne and Moe Hawrysh; brother- in law Lester Hainstock; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Diana is survived by her husband of 56 years, Keith; daughter Stacey (Neil Boles) and her family Kadence, Rowan, and Calista; daughter Lorena (Clint Orr) and her family Taylor, Drew, Parker, Preston and Dryden; and numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Diana was born in White Beach, SK, on December 30, 1942. She took her schooling in Aaran, SK, and after high school moved to Yorkton where she worked for 2 years. Diana then decided this was not the life for her and moved to Regina to extend her education, soon after beginning her career with the Provincial Government. She met her future husband in 1966, were married in 1968 and 5 years later started raising their family.
Diana dedicated her life to her family, and they always came first. Her days were always brightened when her children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends either just dropped in or made a planned trip to visit.
Over the years Diana, Keith and family spent many holidays travelling in their motorhomes with a group of friends and their children to various destinations across Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, B.C. and the USA. In later years after the girls were grown, golfing holidays and airplanes took the place of the motorhomes and the holidays with many of the same friends extended to southern USA, Hawaii and other southern destinations.
Grandma’s special chicken, cookies and various other deserts will be greatly missed by grandkids and all other visitors young and old. Everyone will be in for a big surprise if they think grandpa is capable of duplicating grandma’s culinary skills.
Special thank you to the doctors and nurses in the Allan Blair Cancer Care Centre and the Palliative Care Doctors and Nurses at the Pasqua Hospital. In memory of Diana, contributions may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK, S4T 7T1, or a charity of your choice.
Memorial Celebration will take place at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Private Family Interment will take place at a later date.
