Obituary of Diana “Dee” Lapointe-Pollmann (nee Jiles)
Diana passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital in Kitchener, Ont. at the age of 84 following a brief illness.
She was born in Montreal, Que. and moved to Kitchener in 1983 with Prudential Assurance.
Predeceased by daughter Susan Massey; husbands Stanley Leo Lapointe and Joachim (Joe) Pollmann; nieces, Leslie-Anne Turmel and Marlene Turmel; parents Leslie and Margaret Jiles.
Survived by daughters, Christina (Tina) Massey, Robin Massey and June Lapointe; sisters, Carol Jiles and Katherine Turmel, nephew and niece George and Briana Davis (predeceased by husband Tony D’Archi), many loving cousins, great nieces, great nephews and step grandchildren, step children Suzanne and Raymond Lapointe and Corrina Pollmann. Will be missed by the whole Lapointe clan and her many friends and acquaintances in Rockway Village Garden.
Dee was curious about everyone she came across, inquiring about their lives and delighting in making connections between people.
She was a generous member of the New Apostolic Church in Kitchener. When her health started to deteriorate, she would listen to the sermons over the phone.
She enjoyed square dancing, quilting at Rockway Gardens Quilting Club, reading historical and nature novels, trivia and watching British shows.
Dee cherished her longstanding friendship with Clive and Leslie Hill (and their families) who knew and loved her for over six decades, from Montreal to Kitchener.
Good friends Linda Lee and Raymond Duhaime were such a blessing with errands, technical issues and homemade meals.
Cremation has already taken place. Service will occur on Thursday, March 27, 2:00pm at the New Apostolic Church, 160 Margaret Ave., Kitchener followed by a reception.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the March of Dimes would be appreciated.
