With heavy hearts, we announce Mom’s passing at the Long-Term Care Centre (Berry Lane) Grand Falls – Windsor, with her family at her side.
Della was a loving Mother to Alvin (Ann) and Eugene (Helena); extra loving Grandmother to Rob (Brittany), Kyle (Kaylen), Stephen (Samantha), Adam (Tia) and Great Grandson, Miles; also, leaving to mourn her sisters; Wilhelmina (Wilfred) and Emily; brothers, Allen (Dora), Ward (Lora), Jack (Evelyn) and Austin (Diane); sisters in law, Marjorie Crant, Evelyn Hollett and Maureen Hollett; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by husband, Weston; parents, John and Hannah Hollett; and brothers, Don and George.
Della was a friend to all she met and was the epitome of what it is to give back. She had the biggest heart and loved her volunteer work, loved baking and making desserts. Her coffee cake dessert and lemon cheesecake were her family’s favorites! She loved helping prepare and volunteering for many a wedding, church, firette and legion social functions. Della enjoyed a good laugh, bingo, and a good game of cards. She and Wes loved their cabin at Camp 4. Every year her family enjoyed her salads and lobster at the cabin. In the fall, we would look forward to getting her cabbage pickles, beets and, of course, her homemade bread! She will live on forever in her family’s hearts!
God speed beautiful lady. Rest easy and watch over your loved ones and friends until we all are reunited again.
Della’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the management and Staff of the Central Health Long-Term care home and especially the staff on Berry Lane who treated Della with such tender care and respect. God bless you all.
Visitations will take place on Friday, January 10th, 2025, from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm at Christ Church at Milltown.
Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church, Milltown – Head Bay d’Espoir on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 at (to be announced) with Rev. Wendover officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Milltown-Head Bay D’Espoir.
