We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Deborah Mae McGlynn on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Arbour Heights in Kingston, Ontario after a long and courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Deborah was the daughter of the late Aloysious and Betty (Graham) McGlynn. She leaves behind her sisters Diane Gregory (Gary), Lynda McGlynn, and Nancy Ste. Croix (Larry). She also leaves behind her long-term partner Gail Straub of Calgary, Alberta, and close friend Darlene Grazos of Lindsay, Ontario. Deborah was also a devoted aunt and great-aunt, and enjoyed her large extended family.
As a proud member of the LGBTQ community, Deborah lived authentically and built relationships with those around her. She will be remembered for her sense of kindness, and loyalty to family and friends. Deborah worked as a hairdresser until she retired in 2018. She lived in Calgary for most of her adult life but decided to return home to Kingston after retirement to be closer to her family. She was an avid baseball player, enjoyed curling, and kept a close circle of friends who miss her dearly.
A private ceremony with family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the PSP Society of Canada or the Kingston Pride Organization in her memory.
Arrangements entrusted to Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa. Please share your memories and condolences to the family.
