It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Deborah Lynn Crum (nee Mortimer), surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 63 years at Brampton Civic Hospital. Beloved wife and best friend of 44 years to Robert. Loving mother of Sharlene, Sandra (Roland), Samantha (Marc), Shannon (Steve) and Steven (Lindsay). Cherished daughter of Stuart Mortimer. Dear sister of David (Judi), Dennis, and Denise Blake (Darin). Aunt to 18 nieces and nephews. Proud Grandmother to Avery, River, Felix, Anthony, Reece and Leigha. Deborah was predeceased by her mother Deanna Mortimer and her sister Dale Miron.
Debbie was born in Toronto in 1961 and loved spending time with her two sisters, two brothers and many friends. Throughout her teens she was often found at the local arenas watching her brothers play hockey or practicing her figure skating. It is there that she met the love of her life, Robert. They were married on May 9th, 1980, and together they enjoyed their days caring for their five children.
In 1992 Debbie and her family moved to Orangeville where she spent the remainder of her life. While caring for her family she worked at Teen Ranch and then the Lord Dufferin Centre until her retirement. Debbie will be remembered as a caring mother, who always had time to listen and offer words of guidance.
The family will be holding a private gathering at Dods and McNair Funeral Home on Friday, January 24th, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society Canada.
A tree will be planted in memory of Deborah in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
