Obituary of Debbie Hector
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Deborah “Debbie” Darlene Hector announces her passing on February 4, 2025, at Hospice Fredericton. Born on September 24, 1963, she was the daughter of Ivan and Darlene (Goddard) Hector.
Debbie was a free-spirited person who loved to dream and be creative. She recently devoted her time to redecorating her living spaces with her daughter, including the creation of a flower garden in the front of their home. It brought her the greatest joy to spend a sunny day out in the yard with gardening tools in hand and her favourite music playing on a bluetooth speaker in the background.
Debbie never passed up a chance to go shopping, whether it was for herself or helping someone else find the perfect item. On shopping days with family or friends, it was a guarantee that she would arrive at the meeting location earlier than scheduled with a coffee or tea for anyone spending time with her that day. In her later years she found time to travel, which brought out her adventurous spirit and created countless wonderful memories.
Debbie always worked in the service industry, which was also a reflection of the type of person she was. For the past 15+ years she worked at Tim Hortons as a Baker and as part of the Front Counter staff. She took a lot of pride in the products she helped serve as well as memorizing the coffee orders of the regular customers that she considered more as her friends.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving daughter, Kayla Bright (Corben); sister, Shelley Hector (Tommy Kilpatrick); nephew, Brady Kilpatrick; and niece, Melissa Hector. She was predeceased by her brother, Barry Hector.
A Celebration of Life for Debbie will be taking place on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Oromocto Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Debbie’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Hospice House Fredericton, or Oromocto SPCA would be greatly appreciated by the family.
