David Frederick Turnbull, resident of Kars ON, age76, died at his home on Saturday evening, February 15, 2025.
Born in Digby NS, he was a son of the late Joseph and Jean Turnbull. He proudly served 25 years with the RCMP/CSIS having served in Saskatchewan and Ontario. A highlight of his career was as an instructor at the William Stevenson Academy for new CSIS officers.
He cherished being a grandfather and was a prominent member of the Manotick social scene. A gruff exterior to many who didn’t understand his wit but a man with great depth and a big heart if you got to know him.
Survived by his son Michael Turnbull (Caitlin Merritt Turnbull), and their 2 children Jack and Alice; sister Deborah Turnbull; and brother Joseph Turnbull Jr. Predeceased by his sister Vanya. He will also be remembered by Michael’s mother, Kathy Turnbull (Battle).
His wishes were to be cremated. A service for goodbyes will be held at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 1610 Roger Stevens Dr., Kars on Saturday, March 22nd from 12 to 3 pm.
