With heavy hearts, we share the passing of David Thomas Roberts.
While we are deeply saddened and will miss him dearly, we are also incredibly proud of his courage, love, and the strength it took to make this choice. He faced this moment with the same bravery and grace that defined his life, leaving this world on his own terms, surrounded by those who loved him.
Born on June 25, 1962, to Bob and Marie Roberts, Dave grew up in Malton — what one dear friend fondly called “the Capital of Mississauga.” Throughout his life, he formed deep and lasting friendships that stood the test of time. Dave was known for his love of fastball, hockey, refereeing and football but more than anything, he will be remembered for his incredible sense of humour, kindness, bravery, and unwavering courage. He had a unique ability to bring laughter into any room, and his warmth and generosity touched the lives of so many. Even in passing, Dave’s giving spirit endured. Through the Trillium Gift of Life Program, he was able to donate his organs, saving three lives and leaving behind a legacy of hope.
He leaves behind his loving sisters, Sue Callaghan (Bill) and Diane Roberts-Scarfone (Phil), as well as his cherished nephew and nieces: Rob (Leanne), Liz (Mike), and Kat (Jamie), Page (Dylan) David, Michael (Selena). His legacy lives on in his great-nieces and nephews—Will, Sarah, Leah, Jacob, Jaclyn, Paris, Amelia and Nora who will always carry his spirit in their hearts. Dave will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to the Visitation taking place at the McKersie & Early Funeral Home, 114 Main St. E. Milton, ON, on Sunday, March 2 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm and from 5:00pm – 7:00pm
A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.
