Our wonderful son Greg passed away on March 12, 2025 after a short but fierce battle with cardiovascular disease.
Always hard-working and independent, Greg took countless after-school jobs and successfully achieved his goal of supporting himself in London, Ontario while obtaining a Business degree from Western University. He grew to love the life in London and settled there, where he enjoyed touring the city on foot, in all kinds of weather, and his trusty bus pass. Greg particularly enjoyed all the fairs at London’s Victoria Park and concerts at Quai du Vin Vineyard, near the town of Sparta.
Always making time for gatherings with friends, Greg celebrated a guys’-night-out every month to see the latest blockbuster movies with his buddies, affectionately known as “The Movie Knights.”
Greg was dedicated to his long career with CitiBank, not seeking promotion, but staying true to his philosophy that job security was the reward for a front-line workforce.
He was a devoted son who loved his extended family and attended family gatherings when and wherever they took place. Despite living in London, Greg still considered his parents’ residence in Mississauga to be his home, taking busses and trains to visit frequently.
Friends and family will recall Greg as quiet-spoken, with a very wry sense of humour and way of expressing himself clearly with merely a roll of his eyes or a shake of his head.
Greg is survived and will be sorely missed by his beloved mother Sheila and father Bob, as well as his sister Laura. He was especially close to his aunts Carolyn and Cheryl, with whom he enjoyed outings whenever in Toronto. Greg also leaves behind first cousins Leanne (Bob), Keri (Troy), Linda (Richard), Luana (Steve), Tony, Jeff and Scott. He is pre-deceased by Aunts Betty Jane, Susan and Dorothy.
Greg would want to give special thanks to Dr. Nagpal and all of the compassionate nurses and staff at University Hospital in London, who worked tirelessly to care for him in spite of the unsurmountable odds.
At Greg’s request, no funeral will take place, and he will be privately celebrated by immediate family on an upcoming warm Spring day.
