The passing of Darrel McKenzie Stewart, husband of the late Loretta (Brown) Stewart, occurred on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton , NB. Born on July 30, 1933, in Zionville , NB , he was the son of the late James and Agnus (Moran) Stewart. Darrel worked in sales for JW Bird and Company, he was a member of the Fredericton Church of Christ and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Darrel is survived by his son, James Stewart of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Matthew, Samantha, Chase and Robert Stewart; sisters, Shirley Brown of Fredericton, NB and Marie Davidson (Lou) of Nashwaak Bridge, NB; brothers, Leonard Bennett (Joselyn) of Durham Bridge, NB and Wayne Bennett (Carla) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and loving wife, Darrel was predeceased by his children, Cheryl and Gerald Stewart; sisters, Elsie Breau (late Eliard), Edith Peacock (Burns), and Mary-Ellen Bennett; brother, Brian Bennett and infant siblings, Ernestine and Eldon.
Arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home. At Darrel’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Graveside Service will be held at Zionville Community Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick , Zionville Community Cemetery or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
