Darlene Martha Butt
Anchor Point, Newfoundland
Sept 12 1971 – Jan 21 2025
53 Years
“LEST WE FORGET”
VETERAN
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Darlene Martha Butt announce her passing at her residence in Newfoundland on the 21 January 2025.
Devoted and Beloved mother of Ryleigh Paulina Boudreau. Darlene was born in Lourdes De Blanc Sablon, Quebec Hospital, and moved to the Northern Peninsula on the Newfoundland side from Labrador, as a young child.
Darlene was an avid student from the very beginning and throughout her entire life. She completed many things and travelled throughout the world.
She completed her ECE and worked with children for many years in Ontario. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Education which allowed her to teach in various schools in Alberta including high school as a substitute. She completed her Degree in Psychology and used this to work with family’s on the Native Reserve in Alberta becoming the supervisor for the entire reserve, with many workers , protecting abused women, making their lives and their children’s lives much safer and productive. She worked in a Transition House in Alberta taking care of abused women and children as well.
She was a proud member of the Canadian Navy and wore her uniform with pride travelling to many countries. She became an advocate for Veterans , after landing a job with Veterans Affairs working tirelessly for Veterans, who suffered from things she could empathize with having PTSD herself. She handled 100’s of files and dedicated herself to them, fighting for each Veteran’s individual rights.
The above things are just some highlights of her accomplishments in her life, she had many more, but the most important to her was being the proud mother of her baby, Ryleigh, she would be so proud of her accomplishments and constantly worry if she is alright as a mother does, but Darlene’s love for her was above and beyond. Ryleigh know that you were loved by Mom, she is with you always.
Darlene touched so many people in her life, a kind, giving, loving soul who would love to laugh and be with friends, she will be dearly missed by all, especially her family and friends.
Lori Lee a very special and faithful friend forever.
