In Loving Memory of Daniel Peroff Sr.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Peroff Sr., who passed away peacefully from natural causes on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, Ontario, at the age of 93.
Dan and his beloved wife, Marie Hazel Peroff, enjoyed many wonderful years together, recently celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on Christmas day last year. Dan was a lifelong resident of Sudbury and together he and Marie raised a family that meant the world to him.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Marie; his children, Daniel Peroff Jr. (wife, Shea Campbell), Lewkas Coulson (wife, Carolynne Coulson), Cathy Ransom (husband, Patrick Ransom), and Michael Peroff (wife, Valerie Peroff); and his grandchildren, Darren Kooistra, Kristin Calabria, Connors Coulson, Seann Coulson, Alana Peroff, Andrew Peroff, Ashley Peroff, and his two great-grandchildren, Amaya and Caden Calabria. Dan is also mourned by his brother, Peter Peroff, his aunt, Elaine Simmons, uncle, Al Simmons, Carla and Rick Kooistra, Bob and Sandy Cress, along with his extended family and a close circle of friends and neighbours, especially valued neighbours Russ Reinguette & family.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend, Dan was loved and admired by all who knew him. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on his family and community. Fluent in French, English, and Macedonian, Dan connected with people from all walks of life.
He had a lifelong passion for sports, particularly hockey, baseball, football, golf and pool. One of his proudest achievements was his significant contribution to the Parkside Centre & Xstrata Nickel Games Room at the local YMCA, where he served as tournament director and regularly volunteered his time. Dan, a skilled craftsman, enjoyed working in his shop on a variety of projects, typically to help those closest to him.
Per Dan’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A small celebration of life was held in his home with his closest family members to honor his legacy on Saturday January 25th, 2025.
