Died suddenly on Wednesday September 17, 2025 at his home at the age of 74.
Dan of Wasaga Beach, husband of Diane. Father of Matthew, Phillip (Roxanne) and Eric (Deanna). Cherished grandfather of Mason (predeceased), Michael, P.J. Braidyn, Dru, Cassidy and Jaxon. Survived by his sister Debbie Sturges as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dan had a 30-year career with Vaughan Fire, stationed in Woodbridge, retiring in Fire Prevention. His life’s passion was fishing and designing custom rods. He also enjoyed playing poker and cribbage. He was a kindhearted man, quick with a comment or a comeback and always kept everyone laughing. He will be deeply missed.
Friends are invited to join his family at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Saturday October 4, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to celebrate Dan’s life. Words of remembrance at 3 p.m, with food and refreshments to follow.
If desired, a donation to Ducks Unlimited Canada or a local conservation cause would be appreciated by his family.
