It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of our precious son, Damien Maracle, at the age of 9. Damien, the beloved son of Stephanie Court and Mark Maracle, was a shining light in our lives, whose radiant spirit and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Damien was a cherished grandson, and the heart of his family. He is survived by his loving grandparents: Dan and Bonnie Court, Valerie Maracle, Mark Bisson, and his great-grandmother, Paula Bisson.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and countless memories with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Damien was the most beloved nephew of Jennifer Court, Shawn Maracle, Jordan Maracle, Dean Maracle, and Summer Maracle. His cousins, including Jordan Hoffmann, Aylen and Emerson Maracle, Shannon Billone, and Charles Rayner. Damien’s cousins—Hunter, Kota, and Shyla—knew him as a brother.
His best friend Lucas, and his classmates from Sir Wilfrid Laurier Public School will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His dog, Bowzer, was his loyal companion, sharing countless joyful moments together.
Damien was a bright, curious, and playful child who filled every room with laughter and light. He loved playing video games, fishing with his family, and discovering new joys in life. His ability to bring smiles to everyone he met and the way he made everyone feel special will never be forgotten.
Though Damien’s time with us was far too short, the impact he had on our lives will last forever. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. Damien taught us what it means to love fiercely, laugh endlessly, and live joyfully, and for that, we will be eternally grateful.
Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home (36 Lake Ave Dr, Stoney Creek) on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 2–6 p.m. A Celebration of Damien’s life will be held at Cheyne Presbyterian Church, (7 King St, West, Stoney Creek, Parking will be available in the municipal parking lot off of Lake Avenue South).
