Dale Clarke Obituary
Forever in our hearts
Dale Clarke has passed away peacefully at 79 years, at home with his cherished wife Gladys, daughters Diana (Rick), Donna (Paul) and son David. Grandfather to Nicholas and Cole.
Dale was a loving, devoted husband and father who had a tremendous life full of love, travel and fun. A member of the Nickel Lodge, Scottish Right and Rameses Shriners. Dale had a 30 year career at Inco, beginning as a Miner in 1962 and through the years became Mines Research Senior Industrial Evaluator. Several significant projects Dale was responsible for with Inco include the exploration/definition of the diamond drill process, development and implementation of one man drilling, development of mine backfill process and the development of water absorbent backfill. After his retirement he became a business owner of a mining supply company for another 30 plus years, supporting the Sudbury Mining Community.
Dale was so proud of his family who worked with him and many employees who became successful with their own family and careers. Dale also holds co-patents with Inco regarding mine backfill control valve design and the use of electric trailing cables during the operation of underground electric equipment. Dale was able to share his knowledge and experience over the years in the Mining Industry around the world such as South Africa, Australia, Sweden and The Northwest Territories. For 10 years in a row Dale loved his annual Bus Clarke Memorial Golf Tournament in the French River area with his brothers Alan (Margie) predeceased, Fraser (Trudy), Duane predeceased (Christiane) and Danny (Ramona) and even winning the green jacket twice. Dale enjoyed going for walks with Gladys and spending time with family and friends with an Ice-Cold Coors light watching the Toronto Blue Jays and the Green Bay Packers.
Dale and the Love of his Life for almost 60 years, Gladys, were so fortunate to have enjoyed 14 years of winter living in South Padre Island Texas and will cherish all the friends they met there. Dale was an amazing husband and father who will always be remembered for his kind, generous and humble heart.
A special thank you goes out to all the Nurses, Doctors and support staff at the Dialysis Unit and Health Sciences North and to his Personal Support Workers he had at home for their compassion and support.
Always in our hearts and never forgotten.
A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
