On April 6th, 2025, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, called our dearly beloved matriarch of the Morrison family, Cynthia Mae Morrison to be with Him in her eternal home. She was surrounded by her family with her son seated directly by her bedside. Cynthia, affectionately known by her family and loved ones as Miss Meg, was born on June 2nd 1932, in Chandlers Hill, Main Ridge, Clarendon, Jamaica, to Charles and Alice Miller. She was the second of five (5) children.
The Miller family moved from Chandlers Hill to Ballard’s River.
Cynthia married Rupert Morrison on the 28th of November, 1962. The marriage lasted for 32 years due to the death of her beloved on October 17th, 1994.
Cynthia was an ardent member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Jamaica from 1961 until she migrated to Canada in 2006. While in Pennants she sang in the choir and participated in Women’s Ministry, and Dorcas Club where she taught the ladies to sew, tat, and crochet among other things. She was versed in tatting, making and selling things like dress collars to Things Jamaica.
Cynthia was a dressmaker by trade. She learnt the art of dressmaking from her Aunt Geeti, who at the time was living in Brown’s Town, St. Ann, Jamaica
Cynthia later migrated to Canada, where she lived with her son, daughter-in-law and grandkids for nineteen years. She also became a dedicated companion to Mother Mary Bennett after the death of her husband
Cynthia never complained. Instead, she constantly praised the Lord, her faith unshaken by her struggles. She was a prayer warrior, touching the lives of many by visiting churches, participating in prayer lines, and attending various church events. Her faith was likened to that of Job – unwavering, inspiring, and admired by all. Cynthia was the embodiment of what it means to serve the Lord, and her dedication to God was admired by everyone around her.
On the day of her passing, Cynthia could be heard praising God as she was transitioning to her new eternal home. It was not long after that she passed away.
