Craig Joseph Briand
January 11, 1971 – March 2, 2025
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle, Craig Joseph Briand. He was a gentle soul who loved animals, enjoyed golfing, fishing, ATVing, and playing video and board games. Craig worked for Provincial Poles Specialists in Alberta for 22 years, spending his winters and Christmases in Cape Breton with his family. He returned home to Cape Breton in 2022.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary (Ron) Thorpe, Marilyn (Peter) Felix, Deborah Adamsson, Arlene (Lloyd) Sampson; brother, Adrian (Juanita) Briand and nieces and nephews, (to whom he was the Funcle) Angela, Amanda, Adam, Terralea, Cherise, Jeffrey, Marcus, Nolan, Makaela and Arissa.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Mildred (Mombourquette) and Herbert Briand; his brother-in-law, Jeffrey Adamsson and nephew, Nathan Thorpe.
We would like to thank the nurses and doctors in the ER department at the Strait Richmond Hospital and the doctors and nurses at Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Wing 4A.
A special thanks to our sister, Arlene and her husband Lloyd, who went above and beyond taking care of our brother Craig.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made to Diabetes Canada or The Kidney Foundation. Funeral arrangements are under the direction and care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, St. Peter’s.
