Colin Lawrence Walsh Obituary
As the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident, it is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Colin (Lawrence) Walsh which had taken place at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025.
Predeceased by his parents: Thomas and Catherine Walsh.
We are left with broken hearts but have endless memories we will cherish forever.
Left to remember Colin, his adored family Michelle, Reid, and Naomi; devoted brothers: Darrell (Holly) and their son Thomas: Dwayne (Susan) and their two sons: Sam and Jesse; mother-in-law Betty (Terry) Stone; brothers-in-law: Darryl (Tracy) Stone and their son Brady: Chris Stone (Jenna Goodyear) and their daughter Layla and son Beau; sister-in-law: Angela Hardy (Robert Ruby); extended family, large circle of friends and his Avalon Ford work family.
Colin spent a short time in Southern Harbour as a very young boy before he and his family moved into St. John’s.
Colin was known as a man who was kind, honest, upfront, loyal and held great integrity. His entire world was his family. He adored his children, loved them dearly and would have done anything for them. Colin was very proud to be their dad.
Michelle and Colin were together for 19 years and had been married for nearly 13 of them. They shared lots of happiness, love and friendship. Together they built a family sharing many adventures and memories.
Colin had a very distinct passion for cars, especially Ford vehicles. If you own a Ford, chances are you were already in his good books. From collecting diecast model cars to detailing and driving the real thing, supplying parts to his co-workers on the job or attending car shows, his love for the automobile industry could not be matched.
Colin loved and enjoyed having campfires with his family. There was never a lack of flame when he stood around a fire. Throughout the years Colin really enjoyed playing basketball as this was his favorite sport. A sport for which he loved seeing and teaching his son Reid play as well. Other than this, another way his infectious smile was when he would be sailing on the water. He loved sailing the sea with his lifelong best friend Jon Rusted.
We can’t forget how much Colin loved his morning cafe mocha with whipped topping, also what he would refer to as his poor man’s Starbucks.
Colin will be dearly missed by his family and friends, but his legacy and memories will continue to live in our hearts forever.
