It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of Clifford Mattice of Edmonton, Alberta on Jan 29, 2025 at the age of 86 years.
Clifford will always be lovingly remembered and cherished by his six children: Michael (Roxanne), Brent (Valerie), Kathy, Deanna “Deannie” (Bruno), David (Nicole) and Allen (Lisa); 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, brother Jack Mattice (Lucy) as well as extended family and many dear friends.
Clifford was predeceased by his loving wife, Anne, his parents Lee and Hazel, brothers Ken and Dennis, sisters Francis, Rita and Sharon.
Clifford was born in 1938 in Ponoka, AB and moved to Whonnock, BC where he spent his childhood participating in many adventures with his 6 siblings. Clifford joined the RCMP when he was 18. He left the RCMP after a few years to marry Anne and joined the Camrose City Police for a few years. Clifford’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to embark on his own, starting with Alberta Internal Investigators and then finding his passion with Twilight Hobbycraft. Upon retirement, Clifford and Anne moved to Prince Albert, SK where Clifford enjoyed golf and selling his gloves. As Anne’s health declined, Edmonton became their home to live out their final chapters.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Dickensfield Capital Care, as well as Ester Balbin (Cliff’s personal caregiver).
In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Clifford Mattice can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
A Prayer Service will be held at St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Albert Catholic Church, 7 St Vital Ave, St. Albert, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
For anyone who is unable to attend, the Prayer Service and Funeral Mass will be broadcast on Zoom (Prayer service ID# 84660921704, passcode 607663, Funeral Service ID# 89725067443, passcode 817713.)
