In Loving Memory of Claudia Evelyn Silvera
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Claudia, who left us on March 31st, 2025. She was a beacon of love, warmth, and strength, deeply cherished by her extensive family and all who knew her.
Claudia joins Laurie (Daddy) who left us on March 2nd 2020. Theirs was the greatest love story ever told. They met as teenagers and daddy swept her of her feet. They enjoyed 66 years of a loving, wonderful marriage. Their devotion to one another transcended all of life’s hills and valleys. They serve as the gold standard for all of us to emulate.
Claudia was a devoted mother, guiding and nurturing her children with unmatched compassion and wisdom. Her legacy continues through her 6 children and their spouses, Claudette (Karl), Peta (Pierre), Catherine (Dave), Bridget (Luther), Michael, Arthur, who were her pride and joy. She was a loving grandmother to 8 grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew (Whitney), Caroline, Tanya (Derek), Jessica (Ryan), Alex, Shelby (Jonny), Robyn (Hayden) and a doting great-grandmother to 14 great-grandchildren, Harper, Audrey, Casey, Addison, Wesley, Maude, Harrison, Bowen, Morgan, Milo, Jett, Blake, Ben, Emily, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Claudia was predeceased by her brother Robert and sister Barbara. Barbara’s girls, nieces Siobhan, Maureen, Penny and Kathy were also very special to her.
Born on August 22 1933, in Kingston Jamaica, Claudia lived a life filled with love and dedication. She was the Centre of our family, always putting others before herself and offering a listening ear and comforting words. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.
Claudia loved horse-racing and enjoyed going to the Races with her family to watch her special horse run. These moments will be treasured by us all. Her culinary skills, especially her famous Ackee & Saltfish, will be fondly remembered and missed by all who had the pleasure of tasting it.
As we mourn the loss of Mummy, Mama, Claudia we also celebrate her remarkable life. She taught us the value of love, resilience, and togetherness as a family, and her memory will continue to inspire us every day.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 139 Martin Street in Milton, immediately followed by a reception at Ned Devine’s Irish Pub. www.neddevines.ca/
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Milton District Hospital in Claudia’s honour.
Rest in peace, dear Mummy, Mama, Claudia. You will forever remain in our hearts.
