Peacefully at the Colville Manor on Friday, January 10, 2025, Claude Francis LaPierre passed away with family by his side. Born on February 15, 1943, to the late Wilfred and Dorothy LaPierre, he was aged 81 years of Red Point, PEI.
Claude is lovingly remembered by his siblings Mary Nicholson (Raymond), Helen MacDonald, Danny LaPierre, and sister-in-law Donna LaPierre. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews Elwin MacDonald, Arlene MacDonald-Smith (Derek), Jean MacDonald (Bob Lyons), Patricia Doucette (Leo), Gaylene MacDonald (Jeff Doucette), Sherri Brown (Allen; deceased), Brian (Kaitlyn Fox), Michael, Chad (Jennifer Walsh), Joseph, Richard, and Kirby LaPierre (Glenda). Claude is predeceased by brothers John, Eric, and nephew Jamie LaPierre, and brother-in-law Melvin MacDonald, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family.
Claude was born and raised in Red Point. He lived his whole life in the family home. Claude had two careers he loved during his life: fishing and working for Chapman Bros. Construction. He was happiest on his boat the “Jamie L” or working on a loader or excavator. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Souris Hospital and Colville Manor. He wasn’t in either place long, but he received excellent care while in both places.
A visitation for family and friends will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 4-7pm. A funeral mass will be held at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Souris on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 11:00am. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date. If so desired, donations in memory of Claude can be made to the Eastern Kings Health Foundation (Colville Manor).
