Darlene worked at Meaford Nursing Home as a PSW prior to transitioning back to school at 35 years old, after her girls were in elementary school, to fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse. She was known to work many holidays to allow her colleagues with small children the opportunity to enjoy the time with their young families.
Darlene enjoyed cooking, playing scrabble and cribbage, crafting and watching movies. She also loved watching her husband’s, children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She was very proud of all of her girls’ accomplishments and grandchildren’s successes; she was often heard reporting to others the accolades of her family members.
