It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Clarence Hector Foote on March 8, 2025 at Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow at the age of 96. He was born December 6, 1928 in French River, the son of Victor and Irene (McCulloch) Foote.
Clarence was a member of the French River Presbyterian Church and enjoyed farming on the family homestead until he moved to High Crest Place in New Glasgow, and later to Glen Haven Manor. Friends and family fondly remember Clarence working at the sugar camp, making hay, and tending to the many animals on the farm. Clarence was a quiet and unassuming individual who was known for his kindness. He had a wealth of knowledge about his community and family history, which we all valued.
He is survived by his brother Ralph (Claire), sisters Catherine Kohlsmith and Jean DesBarres and many nieces and nephews.
Clarence was predeceased by his parents, and brothers Alvin and Arthur and sister-in-law Olive Foote.
The family extend their thanks and appreciation to staff for the kindness and care given to Clarence while he was a resident at High Crest Place and Glen Haven Manor.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm on Saturday, March 15 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, the funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will follow in the French River Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Clarence may be made to the French River Cemetery Fund.
