With saddened hearts, the family of Claire Marie Couvillion (nee Desjardins) announce her passing on Friday, January 3, 2025 at the age of 88. Loving wife of the late Thomas Lionel Couvillion for 67 years. Cherished mother of Corinne (Rick) Eagen and Tom (Allison) Couvillion. Adored Mémé of Eric (Melissa) Eagen, Kyle (Hanh) Eagen, Stephanie (Kyle) Archibald, Jeffrey Couvillion, Nathalie (Justin) Reynolds. Very special Mim to great grandchildren, Owen, Kayden, Layton, Rayah, Frederick, Blair and Lionel. Predeceased by her parents Jerry and Belva Desjardins of Tecumseh, daughter-in-law to the late Thomas and Anna Couvillion. She will be dearly missed by “little sister” Mary Jane Finn.
Claire was a retired teacher, she taught over 30 years with many enjoyable years spent teaching Grade 6 at L’école Ste Thérèse, Windsor. She loved spending time with family and travelling. Claire was especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed every moment they spent together. Special thank you to Dr. Fasola, Dr. Veinberg, as well as the nurses, registered dietitians and staff on the 8th floor of Windsor Regional Hospital – Met Campus. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E.) 519-253-7234. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 11:00 – 11:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (834 Raymo Rd.), funeral mass to follow at 11:30 am. Entombment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Claire can be made to Hospice of Windsor or Second Chance Ministry.
