Christopher “Chris” Hinderks Obituary
Christopher Lee Hinderks, 51, Born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, February 7th 1974. Passed away in Calgary, Alberta, on February 7th 2025.
Our extraordinary son, father, brother, nephew, cousin and friend has left a huge hole in our hearts and world when he made his departure on his 51st birthday at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
Chris lived a very large life with his short time on earth. He was very successful in the automobile painting industry and was gold class in his trade. His name was known in the city for his true talent and craftsmanship. He worked at a couple shops before finding his true passion for painting at Carstar, with Mark and Brian, in 2003. He found this position shortly after him and his ex-wife, Amanda, move to Okotoks. They built their first house on Banister Drive. They shared three beautiful children together. Chris bought and sold many houses during his life and took much pride in his homes and work.
Chris loved to travel, and his trips came like clockwork. He would go to the same spot every year, Mexico. There was his favourite escape from Canada. He travelled all over, making friends everywhere he went. Chris enjoyed every single moment with the biggest smile on his face. He was always up for an adventure and always had a positive outlook on life.
Even during Chris’ hard diagnoses, he took the news with such strength and fought so hard to be with his family. Always made sure everyone was okay, even though he was going through so much. He fought a long battle for over a year. With many trips to and from the hospital for treatments and times of worry. He was so courageous throughout the entire battle. If love and strength was enough, he would still be here.
Chris is going to be missed more than words can describe. He didn’t want to leave this earth, and his time was cut too short. But through this pain, his family will honour his life, and he will live on forever in our hearts.
Chris will be sadly missed by his mom Linda Brunner (Rick); dad Dennis Hinderks; daughter; Cheyenne Stewart (Matthew); four grandchildren Everleigh, Chrissie Lee, Jackson, Abigail; son’s Levi Hinderks and Axel Hinderks; siblings Mike Hinderks, Curtis Hinderks (Marla), Christie Jackson (Cody), Jeff Hinderks (Jessica), Katie Brunner (Colton); and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Chris was welcomed in heaven with warm arms by all our predeceased loved ones.
A service will be held on February 22nd at 1pm at the Viking Centre in Okotoks, Alberta.
