Obituary of Christine Isabelle Juras
Christine passed away peacefully on Tuesday, cared for and surrounded by the love of her family and friends in her final days. A cherished mother, adored grandmother, beloved sister, treasured friend, and devoted animal parent, Chris brought joy and warmth to everyone she met.
Born on July 2, 1959 in Hamilton, Chris led a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael, in 1999. Together they built a beautiful foundation of love and care that Chris continued throughout her life.
Chris is survived by her devoted daughters, Mikael (Dennis) Ocolisan and Meghan (Stephen) Walker, and the lights of her life, her beloved granddaughters Colleen, Anne, and Carissa who will always carry forward her incredible spirit of kindness and love. She was a treasured sister of Tracy (Stephen) Grant and Scott (Suanne) Braun, and aunt of Christian (Julie), Sean (Adeline), Ryan (Prity), Daniel, Taylor (Ashley), Derek (Kristina), Jade (Kyle), Patrick, Cooper, and Tanner who will cherish the impact she had on their lives. Chris was a treasured “sister-cousin” to Dan (Jenn) and Julia (Steven). She will also be remembered fondly by her dear friends Tammy and Linda and her extended community, fellow animal enthusiasts, and all who will cherish the special bonds they were blessed with by knowing her.
Chris was a caring and compassionate person. She demonstrated this compassion in all aspects of her life, including her work as a PSW. Chris’s love for animals was unmatched. She was not only a doting animal parent but also a talented and dedicated breeder of award-winning collies, who brought pride to her and countless smiles to many others. It was a special joy for her in recent years to spend time teaching Colleen and Anne to train their dogs to compete for, and win, their obedience titles. She had a natural way of making those around her feel cared for, supported, and appreciated.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the medical professionals involved in her care, especially to the Elgin EMS Paramedicine team for their care in support in her home.
Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Friday March 14th, 2025, from 9:00am until 11:00am and 1:00pm until 2:00pm. A celebration of Chris’s life will be held at the funeral home immediately following at 2:00pm, where all who loved her can gather to honour her extraordinary life. A private family interment will take place at the Dorchester Union Cemetery at a later date.
Donations to The Canadian Liver Foundation in Chris’s memory would be appreciated.
Though we grieve her passing, we celebrate the remarkable life she lived, full of love, laughter, and care. Chris, your legacy shines brightly, and you will remain forever in our hearts.
