Chris Jeffrey Leonard Obituary
Peacefully at the KHSC on Thursday February 6, 2025, surrounded by those who love him, Chris passed away due to complications of heart disease. He leaves behind his loving wife Candace (Miesseau), his children Jennifer, Logan (Tianna) and Jake (Emelia) and his beloved granddaughter Blake. He is also survived by his sister Linda Dickson (Barry) and his brother Richard (Anna May) as well as several nieces and nephews who will all miss him very much. Chris was predeceased by his parents John and Lucille Leonard and his sister Johna Leonard.
Throughout his life Chris was active in sports including hockey and baseball and after his kids came along his spare time was dedicated to following them as they pursued their love of the same sports. He loved every minute of it and was always their biggest fan. Chris worked for many years in the grocery business both in Kingston and Gananoque, resulting in many close friendships with former coworkers. He and Candace were blessed with a wonderful group of friends and neighbors who have been of great support to them both over the last years.
The family would like to thank the many dedicated medical professionals both in Kingston and the Ottawa Heart Institute who provided such wonderful care to Chris and support to his family over the last many years as he was fighting this disease. The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home on Saturday February 15 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. A celebration of Chris’s life will be held at the Gananoque Curling Club on Sunday February 16 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Please come and celebrate him with his family and friends and share some stories. Chris was a great prankster, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good laugh. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family.
