The family announces with great sorrow her passing on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 66.
Beloved wife of 49 years to Mark Allick. Loving mother of Shannon Groulx (Jason) and Kelly Lee (Abdul). Cherished grandmother to Hope, Codey, and Wren.
Also survived by her siblings Wayne, Wendy and Doreen, brother-in-law Gary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Lionel Lebitt and May Hayward, and parents in-law, Nick and Ingrid Allick. Also predeceased by her siblings Robert, Terry, Roxanne and Richard, as well as brothers-in-law John and Gordon.
Our Mom was born and raised in Kirkland Lake, Ontario to her beloved parents Lionel and May. In 1976, she moved to Timmins to start her new life with her husband Mark. Soon after they started their family.
Anyone who has ever met Mom was touched by her incredible sense of humour that was most evident when she was telling a story. No one could tell a story like Mom. We will pass these tales along to our children.
Her love for her family was beautiful. Rarely missing a day to call and check in with her children just to chat about ordinary things that don’t seem so ordinary anymore. She often loved to reminisce about old times spent with our Dad, fishing out on a lake or listening to their favourite music. She adored playing games with her grandchildren and enjoying their company, seeing who could win the most games of crazy eights.
One could say that in our Mother’s universe, the brightest stars were her animals. So many pets, from cats, dogs, horses, and rabbits have been lucky to call themselves a part of Mom’s world. She would go to any length to help an animal in need. They were all so special to her, each one bringing her so much love in different eras of her life. Needless to say, this legacy has passed down to her children and grandchildren enriching our lives for the better.
Mom’s humour never left her even as her body became weaker. She remained strong for her family as she approached the end. Now the Lord has called her home, to be reunited with loved ones that have gone before her. No more pain. Only peace.
Rest easy Mom. We love and miss you so much.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Maisonneuve, as well as the staff at Timmins and District Hospital and Lasalle Residence, for their excellent care and compassion.
Respecting her wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. Remembrance donations made to the Timmins and District Humane Society or the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
