SQUIRES: Chancey James “Jim” – of Port Rowan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Norfolk General Hospital in his 91st year.
Beloved husband of 55 years to the late Donna (Mason) Squires who predeceased him March 14, 2011. Dear father of Jenny & her husband Junior Queensberry of Langton and Randy & his wife Wendy of Bloomsburg. Cherished grandfather of Curtis and Stephen. Dear brother of Larry & Connie Squires and Brad & Doreen Squires all of RR#1 Port Rowan. Brother-in-law of David & his wife Cathy Mason, Sylvia & her husband Richard Pake, the late Dixie Mabee (July 18, 2023) & Mark Jennings, Wendy & her husband Dean Pickersgill and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Remembered by special friend Pauline Rockefeller.
Predeceased by his parents Wray & Aletha (Oakes) Squires, sister Joy Squires and nephew Jeff Squires.
A dedicated hard working farmer for 67 years with a strong work ethic his whole life, starting at age 9 for a local Tobacco farmer as a “stick shaker”. His Love of Music encouraged him to learn to play Piano and Old Time Fiddle which brought him much enjoyment over the years
Relatives and friends may call at the JEFFREY W. GLENDINNING FUNERAL HOME 36 Front Rd., Port Rowan for memorial visitation on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 9:30am – 11:15am followed by the Memorial Service in the Clark Chapel at 11:30am. Reception to Follow.
