Obituary of Catherine Anne Kindervater
Catherine Anne Kindervater
(1949 – 2025)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Catherine Anne Kindervater, who passed away at the Brockville General Hospital on March 5, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by her loving family.
Anne was the beloved wife of the late Charlie Kindervater. She is the loving mother of her daughters, Bridgitte (Andrew) McMullen, the late Evelyn Kindervater, and Alice Anne (Roberto) Fadelli. She was a devoted grandmother to Connor (Robyn), Holden, Jacob, Sydney (Andrea), Lola, Avery, Emerson, Adalia, Charlotte and Charlie. Proud great-grandmother to Vince, Ruby Anne, and Bonnie. Anne will be sadly missed by her cherished nieces Carolyn (John) Wilson, Maureen (Jeff) Crawford, and her nephews Sean (Julie) and Kevin Coligan, as well as her great nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Dan (Shirley) Coligan.
Catherine, known to many as Anne, was born on July 30, 1949, in Brockville, Ontario, the cherished daughter of Gerald and Nan (Easter) Coligan. She was raised in Prescott, Ontario, where she spent much of her childhood accompanying her mother, a dedicated RN, to various Red Cross clinics.
Anne met the love of her life, Karl Heinz (Charlie) Kindervater, while he was working as a police officer. Together, they raised three daughters in a home filled with love and devotion. Anne was passionate about her community, serving as a town councillor and making significant contributions toward the betterment of Prescott. Among her many achievements, she spearheaded the recycling program and volunteered at the Prescott Housing Authority.
In addition to her public service, Anne was the proud owner of Country Curiosities, an antique and collectibles business. Her passion for vintage items eventually led her to a deep love of turn-of-the-century fashion, which she shared with her longtime friend Barbara Seargeant. Together, they founded the Coligan and Lacey Vintage Fashion Cabaret, a group that produced approximately 10 fundraising shows a year for various local organizations. Anne’s legacy is defined by her love for her family, her tireless dedication to her community, and her creative spirit.
Anne will be deeply missed by many long-time friends who have supported her for numerous years.
Family and friends will be received for visitation at Barclay Funeral Home 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Saturday March 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to12:00 p.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated at St. Mark Evangelist Parish, Prescott on Saturday March 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Mark Cemetery in Prescott.
