It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Catherine Veronica McMillan (née Gillies) on March 6, 2025 at Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances, Ontario. She was 93 years old.
Born in Gourock, Scotland, Catherine immigrated to Canada at the age of 21. In Toronto, she met the love of her life, Alan McMillan, at a dance. Together, they raised three children and enjoyed many happy years in the city before retiring to Haliburton to embrace the peaceful lake life.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Alan; her daughter, Nadine; and her six brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne (Jim) Richardson; her son, David (Lori) McMillan; her grandchildren, Chris (Claudie), Katie (Matthew), Jamie, and Emily; and her great-grandchildren, Vivian, Rowan and Owen.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Catherine’s honour to a charity of your choice. Catherine will be remembered for her resilience, adaptability and unwavering commitment to family. She lived a full and adventurous life, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
