Obituary
Passed peacefully away today at the age of 91, our beautiful mother, grandmother, and aunt, after a long battle with dementia. Predeceased by her husband Robert, her eldest son Bob, her granddaughter Jessica, and her great grandson Bradley. Also predeceased by her parents Patrick and Margaret (Cunnigham) Gearin, her sisters, Veronica Lewis, Rita Burke, Marie Walsh, Margaret Kearsey, Madeline Dooley, and her brothers William and Kevin Gearin and their life partners.
Leaving to mourn with heavy hearts her five sons and five daughters: Brenda (John Horlick), Ron (Joan), Cathy (Eric Cull), Gary (Wanda), Randy (Brenda), Debbie (Howard Tymchuk), Rita (Gary Adams), Rick (Regina), Rod, Margaret (Darren Earle). She will also be missed by her 23 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Along with a large circle of additional family and close friends.
A very special thank you to Dr. Roger Butler for his extraordinary care to Mom over the years, not to mention the insurmountable guidance you have given us along the way, we will forever be grateful to you and your staff. We would also like to thank the staff and doctors from the Shea Heights Community Health Centre for their care for her over the years. As well, a heartfelt thank you to the staff from Compassion Home Care.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home LeMarchant Road on Friday, February 28 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. from Caul’s Chapel, LeMarchant Road. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
