It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carrie Levenia Freake, on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the age of 92.
She was predeceased by her parents, Levi & Thursa Canning; husband, Calvin; daughter-in-law, Julie; granddaughter, Michelle; great granddaughter, Chloe; sisters, Blanche, Lucy; brothers, Cecil and Hedley.
Left to mourn her passing with fond and loving memories are her children, Ivan (Linda), Kavin (Linda), Mervin (Cindy), Myra (Dana), Ken (Julie), Laura; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also a large circle of family and friends.
Mom was devoted to the lord for over 80 years. Her passion was her family and community. Knitting and quilting were her favorite pastime. Mom always enjoyed a game of Frustration or Skip Bo, but she hated to lose.
Mom’s favorite saying after each night talking to her children was “Don’t forget to say your prayers”
We would like to thank the staff and residents at Pleasantview Manor for their love and friendship over the many years.
Public visitation will take place from Beacon Pentecostal Tabernacle, Birchy Bay, NL on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 7-9 PM and Monday, January 13, 2025 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
The Funeral service will take place from Beacon Pentecostal Tabernacle, Birchy Bay, NL on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 1 PM. Interment to follow at the Beacon Pentecostal Cemetery, Birchy Bay, NL.
As expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be gratefully accepted.
