Jenks, Carolean May (nee Andrews)
In celebration of a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Carrie (Carolean) Jenks. On Thursday August 21st, we lost a soul who could light up any room she entered, ignite laughter with her quick wit, and make every person feel loved and appreciated with her compassion and kindness.
Carrie will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Charlie; her daughter Avery and son Calvin; sisters Mary (Wade) and Michelle (Carey); nieces Ashley (Matt), Wren, Ariel and Ashlyn and nephew Michael (Janine); mother-in-law Deb (Brad) and brother-in-law Sandy (Lee-Ann). She leaves us to rest with her mother Patricia (2012), father Michael (2001) and brother Peter (2022).
Carrie’s laughter and light lingered long after she left a room, and her kindness stitched invisible threads between people who may have never met otherwise; something that her memory will continue to do. She lived every day believing and teaching that most people are good, and she held an unwavering ability to make others feel whole.
Carrie’s life was richly woven with cherished memories from her beloved second family at DCAFS, the University of Waterloo and the Fergus Pipe Band, to moments of peace and healing on the French River and countless others with family and friends. Her deep connections created a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
We would like to thank Dr.Muldoon, Dr.Lund, and all the wonderful staff at Groves’ and Grand River Cancer Centre. In honor of Carrie’s passion for ensuring that everyone has enough on their table, please consider donating to your communities’ local Food Bank or to the Canadian Cancer Society to continue their efforts to support individuals and families that are directly impacted by cancer.
A Celebration of Carrie’s life will be held at the Dods and McNair Funeral Home, 21 First St. Orangeville on Saturday September 6th, 2025. Visitation with family will begin at 12:30pm with the memorial service beginning at 2:30pm and a reception to follow.
A tree will be planted in memory of Carrie in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
