It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Mrs. Carolyn Eleanor Edith Balzer of Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the age of 79 years. Carolyn was born in Lacombe, Alberta to Harold and Mildred Anderson, and raised in Bentley. After completing her education, Carolyn went to Independence, Missouri, where she trained in nursing, dedicating herself to caring for others. Carolyn worked at Red Deer Hospital and Michener Centre, and she also taught at Red Deer College, making a significant impact on those around her. Carolyn was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Greg, and her two brothers, Bob and Gary. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her sons, Jeffrey, Jason, and Jeremy (Megan) Balzer, and her treasured grandchildren, Nathan and Ava. Carolyn’s memory will live in the hearts of her sisters, Karen, Judy, Linda, and Arlene, along with her many extended family members and friends. Her legacy of kindness, warmth, and generosity will continue to touch the lives of all who knew her. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Guests are invited to pay their respects one hour prior.
