It is with great
sadness we announce the passing of our mom Carolyn Ann Strang
(Pernette) on January 13, 2025. She was the second oldest
daughter of
John and Ruth
Pernette born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on July 11,
1948.
Carloyn leaves
behind her husband of 52 years Perley, her son Jason, daughter Tammy
(Rick Morton) and grandsons, Zachary, Matthew, Justin and Brady as
well as her siblings Diane, Pam, Susan and many sister and
brother in-laws.
She is predeceased
by her parents John and Ruth Pernette and many aunts and
uncles.
Carolyn spent her
last few days in the hospital surrounded by family and could be heard
saying, ” The gangs all here!”
After graduation she
worked at the Motor Vehicle Dept. until meeting Perley and moving to
Tabusintac which became her new home.
Carloyn loved the
water and enjoyed spending time in the summers at Lake George with
friends and family. She loved to fish and her and Diane would spend
hours on the river in the scow or canoe whether the fish were biting
or not.
Caroyln worked at
the Tabusintac Co-op as their bookkeeper for over 25 years.
She rarely missed a day working through sickness or driving
down the Hierlihy Road in a whiteout. A strong work ethic
was part of her character working full time and raising a
family.
Other joys included
trips to the beach in Leo’s lobster boat with the whole
Strang clan! She also looked forward to game nights
in the summer and enjoyed her time with her friends in her quilting
group. Knitting was also a passion with each grandson having more than
one sweater knit over the years as well as the hundreds of little
yellow chicks she would knit at Easter for the boys to hand out at
school.
Visits to the
Tabusintac Nursing home were also a joy as she spoke fondly about the
people there and trips they had
taken.
The family would
like to thank the Palliative Care Team at the DECH and the great
workers from Integrity Home Health Services who helped so much in her
final months.
There will be no
services at this time. For those who wish, donations in
Carolyn’s memory may be made to the Tabusintac Nursing
Home.
