Obituary of Carolina Morga-Wilkie
Called home to be reunited with her loving parents, Luigi and Gina Morga. Wife to Andrew Wilkie, and devoted mother to Matthew Wilkie (Jenna Lacey). Adoring nonna of Zoey, Boston, Ruby, Ivy, and Quill. Cherished sister to Umberto (Late Paola) Morga and Lynda (Franco) DeRose. Lovingly remembered by in-laws Howard and Nina, Rob and Laura, Jackie and Scott. Loved and admired by many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Carol was a beautiful, intelligent, kind woman who spent many years as a teacher in the Catholic Education system. She taught high school English at Assumption for several years until she decided to put a pause on teaching to stay home and raise their son during his formative years. Matthew was a blessing that transformed their lives and she loved him fiercely. When she returned to teaching, she accepted a position at St. Joseph’s High School as a Hospitality teacher. True to her engaging and interactive teaching style, she modified the program from a traditional hospitality course into a “restaurant” of sorts, teaching students not only how to prepare and handle food, but also how to run a small business. Carol worked diligently to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the hospitality industry, which encompasses a wide range of sectors. Her students loved and admired her and fellow staff members appreciated the variety of delicious home cooked meals the students prepared for lunches. Menu planning, overhead costs and profit margins were also an important part of the program, giving students a true sense of running a small business. Eventually she moved to a position as a guidance councellor, providing students with academic, career, and personal support. She provided a safe and supportive place for students to discuss any personal or academic challenges they may be facing.
After years in education, she retired, looking forward to life with her family. Her greatest joy came when she found out she was going to be a Nonna. There was no limit to the amount of love she had for her grandchildren, and although the time she spent with them wasn’t as long as she would have liked, they were some of the happiest times of her life. Carol was known for giving her all to the things she loved most. She will be remembered for her thirst for knowledge, her passion for learning, and most of all for how deeply she loved her family. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate the beautiful moments we shared with her, and find comfort that she is watching over us from heaven.
Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. (519-253-7234) on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. A chapel service will take place the following day, Wednesday March 26th 2025, at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. In memory of Carolina, donations may be made to The Hospice of Windsor-Es County. Online condolences and cherished memories can be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com
