LEITH, Carole Ann
November 25, 1937 – January 21, 2025
Peacefully at Victoria Hospital, Carole Ann passed away on January 21st. Beloved wife of Clark Leith; mother of James Leith (Leanne Wood), Deborah Leith (Martin Reid), Jonathan Leith; sister of Ronald Mason (deceased), Douglas Mason, Gloria Mason; grandmother of Gabriel, Émilie-Kate, Joanna, Fraser, Samuel, and Sacha. Trained as a teacher, she taught in Bruce Mines, ON, and Madison, WI. She was active as a volunteer serving in London, ON; and elsewhere, including Ghana, Botswana and Massachusetts. She provided leadership in the 1970s to the London Regional Art Gallery Volunteer Committee; in the 1980s as President of the American Women’s International Association, Gaborone, Botswana and on the Parkwood Hospital Board. She enjoyed travel with friends to cultural destinations in North America, and with her husband to far away places including Africa (Okavango, Victoria Falls, Timbuktu, Ghana, and Congo), Asia (China, Mongolia, Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand) and Latin America (Peru, Easter Island, Galapagos, Ecuador, Chile).
A memorial service will be conducted at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, on Sunday, February 9 at 2 pm, preceded by visitation from 1-2 pm. A reception will follow the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Saint Paul’s Social Services, or a charity of your choice.
