Surrounded by the love of her family and caregivers, Carol Rita Rice passed away peacefully of age-related complications, in her 87th year.
She was predeceased by her late husband of 51 years, Bruce McKenzie Rice (2011). Cherished and loving mother to her surviving children, Sheryl (Gerald), Leslie and Daniel, her grandson, Cody, and her step-grandchildren, Andrew, Jeffrey and Douglas.
Carol spent her childhood at Mount St. Joseph Catholic orphanage in Hamilton, Ontario. She then moved to Kitchener where she met Bruce. Carol was a longtime employee at JM Schneiders. She was always grateful, cheerful, and devout to her faith. If you were in her life, she was supportive, loyal and always had a hug for you. Carol will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, 19 Flamingo Dr., Elmira with reception to follow.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Teresa of Avila RC Church and Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington would be appreciated by the family, and may be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
