Carol Anne Wilson Obituary
Carol Anne Wilson
June 11, 1938 – February 15, 2025
Passed away peacefully at the age of 86, predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Murray Gordon Wilson. A proud and loving mother to Joanne (Joe Da Rocha) and Andrew “Drew” (Amy). An adored grandmother to Jacqueline (Brendan), Anthony, Katie, and Ryan. Carol will be greatly missed by her sister Janet Argent (Al), niece Adrienne (Dave), and nephew Greg (Christine). She will also be deeply missed by her sister-in-law Lorna Wilson.
Carol grew up in Woodstock, Ontario and attended Teachers College in London, Ontario. She taught public school in Etobicoke for five years before marrying the love of her life, Murray, in 1962. Together, they raised their family in Woodbridge until they relocated to Campbellville in 1978 after purchasing the Pontiac Buick Cadillac dealership in Milton. Carol moved to Birkdale Retirement Home last January where she made new friends and enjoyed the social activities.
Carol was deeply involved in the Milton community, dedicating much of her time to volunteer work at Milton District Hospital, where she served as the Volunteer Auxiliary President in the 1980s. She was also a cherished member of St. Paul’s United Church, where she received much support following the loss of Murray in 2022. Carol was an avid bridge player in both Milton and Campbellville groups.
Carol and Murray enjoyed a life filled with travel, including trips to Australia, Europe, and many memorable winters spent at Fairway Village in Largo, Florida. Every summer, they made their way to Maine for lobster at the Seawall and often shared these journeys with friends and family. Carol loved to entertain and made hosting parties seem effortless. Her apple pies, chilli sauce and icicle pickles were world famous.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Milton District Hospital, Oakville Trafalgar Hospital and Birkdale Place for their wonderful care and support in the last few months.
Family and friends are invited to a service in Carol’s memory on Friday, February 21 at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s United Church, 123 Main St E, Milton, ON,
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Milton District Hospital Foundation or to St. Paul’s United Church: this would be appreciated by the family. (Please see the donation links below)
