Carol Ann Mendonça Gonsalves, of Thornhill, ON, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, with her husband, Robert at her side. She was born on February 7, 1945, in Port of Spain, Trinidad to John Arthur and Phyllis Mendonça.
Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and was known for her kindness, sense of humor, feistiness & generosity.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, children Troy (Melody) & Kari Anne (Brett), her brothers Neil (Jenny-Maria) and Allan (Lydia) and her six grandsons, Kai, Taelin, Adekin, Bobby, Dakaraia, and Austin, and is being welcomed into heaven by her parents, three grandsons, John Paul, Gabriel and Jude, and the countless friends and family who predeceased her.
A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 27th at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home in Markham, 6pm – 9pm. Funeral Mass will be at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Thornhill, Friday, February 28 at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honour to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
The family would like to thank all of their friends, family, and work-family who dedicated their time and resources caring for Carol when they needed you most; your thoughtfulness and kindness during their time of need will never be forgotten.
