It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carlos Feleja, who left us on March 11, 2025, born on March 10, 1962. Carlos was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose smile and kindness touched the lives of many.
Carlos is survived by his devoted wife, Maria Feleja, and their cherished daughter, Samantha. He also leaves behind his son, Steven (Jess), and his beloved grandchildren, Elliana and Emerson, who were the light of his life. Carlos was predeceased by his daughter, Stephanie, in 1994, a loss that he carried with him throughout his life.
Carlos was the dear brother of Joao (Angela), Olivia (Afonso), Jose (Luisa), Albertina (Joao Luis), Antonio (Gracinda) and Anna (Manny). He was also preceded in death by his sibling Maria do Espírito Santo (Antonio). Carlos will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and extended family, all of whom he cherished deeply.
He was a proud godfather to Gary Martin, Matthew Arruda, and Savannah Oliveira, and he held each of them close to his heart.
Carlos was predeceased by both of his parents, Joao Feleja and Maria do Espírito Santo Arruda,
Carlos will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. His family will forever remember his hard work ethic and love for his Portuguese culture (and on the dance floor).
Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St N, Cambridge, ON, on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 9 PM. A Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, 185 Elgin Street S, Cambridge, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 10 AM, with a reception to follow at the Oriental Portuguese Community Center, 1054 Shellard Side Rd, Cambridge.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Carlos’s memory to McMaster’s Children Hospital or Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. Thank you for your love and support during this difficult time.
