It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Jacobson on Tuesday January 21, 2025, at the age of 82. After facing cancer with courage and grace, Carl passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
He was the cherished husband of Lynn, for 57 years, and devoted father of Jody (Travis). Carl was a proud and loving grandfather to Georgia and Tess, who adored him. He will also be deeply missed by Nikki and Dayna whom he cared for like family.
Carl was known for his genuine kindness and warm sense of humour, endearing him to everyone he met. He embraced the things in life that mattered most – spending time with loved ones, appreciating nature, taking walks with his beloved dog, Nellie, and savouring a beer in the sunshine with friends. He loved driving (anywhere!), he loved the lake, and he loved working for Manitoba Hydro and the friends he made.
Even during his illness, Carl was so appreciative of the care he received at both the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and Soldier’s Memorial Hospital. He would speak often about the “wonderful” nurses and doctors who cared for him.
There are no words to capture the loss we feel. Carl’s presence brightened every day and his memory will live on in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coldwater Canadiana Heritage Museum where Carl truly enjoyed the friendships he made while volunteering with the infamous A-Team and may be made through the Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be planned in the spring.
