Calvin Carter Obituary
On Friday, January 24, 2025, Calvin Carter passed away in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan at the age of 55 years.
Calvin, whose nickname was Moniyaw, was a very independent man, he didn’t like to be helped, he would get upset when you tried to help him. He enjoyed playing pool, slots, and working for his siblings. He also enjoyed a carefree lifestyle. He respected our culture and would not stay at anyone’s place that had medicines. He had a lot of respect for people who practiced our cultural beliefs.
He always gave the grandkids advice on how to treat elders by helping them with chores and listening to them. He loved all his grandkids and got along with all of them. He appreciated anything he received he would always say “You have my smokes?” (I don’t smoke but he would always ask me) and then he would say “How about my $20.00?” like I owed him. I would always have pack and $20.00 on me when I would go through Lloyd -Love you dearly bro; your loving sis Peggy.
Calvin loved all his children and grandchildren dearly. Every time he saw them, he was so happy to see them. He has shared his life with many; he had a family but shared the same lifestyle as those he became friends, family, and bros with. He would always make sure they were good. He would always check up on them.
Calvin is forever loved and remembered by his children, Ashley Riddle, Nova Mitchell, Brooklyn Ben, Chase Studer, and Suzette; Grandchildren, Tahiyah Herle, Damien Riddle, Drake Riddle, Amanda Herle, Trever Carter, Cody and Nevaya; Siblings, Sisters, Eileen (Roger), Peggy (Sid), Shelly (Arden), Marlene, Brothers, Ray (Doris), Leonard (Leona) and special sister Jean Takakenew who loved Calvin like her own brother, she was always in his life through thick and thin. She was an angel to him.
He is predeceased by: his parents, Helen and Raymond Carter, daughter, Diedra Bear; his maternal Grandparents Helen Child and Alex Takakenew; paternal Grandparents, Jerry and Clara Carter.
