Obituary of C. Clare MacDonald
Of St. Thomas, ON, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the age of 85. Beloved husband for nearly 41 years to the late Donna (née Watson) MacDonald (2006). Dearly loved father of Brian MacDonald (Wendy). Cherished grandfather of Derek MacDonald and Ian MacDonald. Also survived by brother, George MacDonald and his daughters, Julie and Tracey.
Clare was born on January 13, 1940, in Wellington, Prince Edward County, ON. He was a retired employee of Ford Motor Company of Canada’s St. Thomas Assembly Plant. For many years, Clare enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Clare’s life will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. (Visitation prior from 12:45-1:45 p.m.). Interment will be made privately in Elmdale Memorial Park. Flowers respectfully declined. If so desired, please consider a memorial donation to the Alzheimer Society Southwest Partners or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
