WAGLER, Brian Samuel “Bear’
Passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly with family by his side on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Listowel Memorial Hospital a month shy of his 70th birthday.
Beloved husband of Julie Wagler (Gerber) whom he married on November 15, 1980. Devoted father of Matthew Wagler (Kendra Breen), and Eric Wagler (Amanda). Proud grandfather of Olivia “Livie” Breen, Miles, and Shea Wagler. Brian will be missed by his mother Shirley (Raycraft) Wagler, siblings Marilyn and Rick Somerville, Sheila and Kim Newbigging, Ralph and Becky Wagler, Carolyn and Calvin Lotz, Doreen and Kerry Kelterborn, by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Enos and Reta Gerber, by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Chris and Sandra Gerber, Heidi Gerber and Carter Blanchard, Jenny and Derek Switzer, and by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Brian is predeceased by his father Samuel Wagler (1997), and by his niece Nicole Wagler (2012).
Brian was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He took great pride in the time spent with his friends and enjoyed every day to the fullest. He was a proud Millwright working for MMS AGI since 1978. He enjoyed the peaceful days fishing with his boys, and the freedom of the open roads on his Harley Davidson. Brian took great pride in mowing his lawns as no one could do it better than him and caring for his gardens. As a proud member of the Newton Knights hockey team for over 40 years, and a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, he was hopeful every year for the big Win.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will take place at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton, on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 1 – 3 and 5 – 8 p.m. A private family service will be held. All are welcome to join the family for a Celebration of Brian’s life at the Milverton Legion, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 12 – 4 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Listowel Memorial Hospital or London Health Science Centre and can be done through the funeral home.
