Brian R. Cameron Obituary
In Loving Memory of Brian Ralph Cameron
1947 – 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Ralph Cameron, husband of Anne Cameron, of Kentville, Nova Scotia, who left us peacefully on March 5, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones at the age of 77.
Born in Chatham, New Brunswick on March 6, 1947, Brian was the son of the late Frank F. & Vera (Gilliss) Cameron. He grew up on a small farm in Loggieville, New Brunswick with his three brothers and five sisters. He graduated from Chatham High School, and he was an honours graduate of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Truro, Nova Scotia. He worked for Ralston Purina, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and spent thirty-five years with David Brown United as a regional truck driver.
He was a former member of the United Church of St. Paul & St. Stephen, where he was president of the Men’s Group, a Cub leader, and a Member of Session. He loved to help his family, friends, neighbours, and strangers. He was kind, caring and willing to help anyone. He always liked to tease others, to tell jokes and to pull pranks to connect with others through laughter. He loved his life partner, his sons and their families, his granddaughters, his grandson, and his daughters-in-law. He always lit up with a big smile when any of his grandchildren were in his presence, as he spent time playing board games and cards with them in the front porch, taking them for a ride on his lawn tractor or letting them blow the horn in his big truck.
Brian is survived by his wife of 56 years, Anne (Woodworth) and by his sons, Michael of Kentville, Tom (Kerry) of Franklin, Tennessee & Bill (Carolyn) of Greenwich and grandchildren: Kenzie, Sarah, Margot, Tavish, Emma, Mary & Kate. He is also survived by sisters, Ethel Lockerbie of Fredericton, N.B., Edie Gammon (Peter) of Bathurst, N.B., Lois Keoughan of Bathurst, N.B., Jean Clements of Three Mile Plains, N.S., brother Archie Cameron of Bathurst, N.B., sister-in-law, Lynne Cameron of Truro, and former daughter-in-law Shannen Pye, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Agnes Walls, brothers James & Lloyd Cameron, sister-in-law Diane (Johnston) Cameron, brothers-in-law Jim Keoughan, Ray Clements, John Lockerbie & Bill Walls, nephew, Glenn Gammon, niece Toby Keoughan-Alexander and great niece Jennifer Gignac.
